COAI appeals to DoT against BSNL voice calling app

cell Operators association of India (COAI), an industry affiliation GSM service companies in India, has slammed BSNL for supplying app based calling offerings.
recently, BSNL started its app based totally calling services underneath which its users touring abroad can join their landlines thru mobiles phones and make calls through the cell app without attracting ISD expenses.
“This app violates licensing situations, poses grave security risks, reasons loss to the exchequer, violates Numbering plan & routing principles and breaches present interconnect settlement,” COAI said in a letter to DoT (department of Telecommunication).
ultimate month, BSNL unveiled the software. even as announcing the app, BSNL chairman and managing director Anupam Shrivastava had then said, “After putting in the app, customers could be able to use their cell telephone to make calls using constant line connection from everywhere within the global from 2 April onward.”
